Vale of Clwyd’s Gareth Davies MS and Dr James Davies MP joined the opening day festivities of the Eisteddfod yr Urdd Denbighshire 2022 being held at Kilford Farm in Denbigh.

Running until Saturday and free to attend, 2022 marks the event’s 100th year anniversary and is the first being held back in person following 2 years of virtual proceedings due to Covid-19.

Gareth Davies MS said “It’s great to welcome the Eisteddfod yr Urdd to Denbigh in this centenary year and to give our young people the opportunity to come together again and showcase their talent on the Urdd’s stage”

Over the course of this week there are nearly 500 competitions to be held for children and young people up to the age of 25 including singing, poetry, dancing, art and much more, with many local school pupils due on stage throughout this year’s Eisteddfod.

The full schedule and free tickets to attend the Eisteddfod and Triban Festival (2-4th June) can be found at www.urdd.cymru/en/eisteddfod
