Vale of Clwyd Senedd Member, Gareth Davies MS, joined the large crowds at this year’s Denbigh and Flint Show on Thursday 21st August, celebrating the best of North Wales’ farming heritage, food, and countryside culture.
The one-day agricultural show, held annually in Denbigh, brought together local producers, charities, and businesses alongside traditional livestock displays, equestrian events, cookery demonstrations, and family-friendly attractions.
During his visit, Gareth toured the busy food hall, craft stalls, and agricultural stands, meeting a wide variety of stalls, such as Rosie’s Triple D Cider from Llandegla, Guerrilla Chicken Spirits, and mental health charity Mind, where Gareth spoke with trustees and staff about the support they provide in the community.
He also visited the STAND North Wales team, discussing their blue badge campaign, youth engagement work, and upcoming podcast project for neurodiverse young people. He also spoke to the Citizens Advice Bureau, Denbighshire, where he heard from caseworkers about the urgent need for new volunteers to support their vital advice services.
Other highlights included a discussion with the Welsh Air Ambulance Charity about fundraising, discussions with NFU Cymru on protecting family farmers, a stop at FUW Insurance Services, and an appreciation of the vehicles on display at Border Classic Cars.
Commenting on his visit, Gareth Davies MS said:
“The Denbigh and Flint Show is always a highlight in the calendar and a fantastic celebration of Welsh rural life, where farming, food, crafts, and community come together.
“It was also a fantastic opportunity to meet businesses and our outstanding local food producers who are facing particular challenges at present, and it was a real treat to sample some of the incredible food and drink our area has to offer.
“The show is a real family day out, bringing the best of North Wales farming and agriculture together, with something there for everyone, from livestock and local produce to classic cars and countryside crafts, and I’d encourage people to pencil it in their diaries for next year.”
