Gareth Davies MS, Member of the Senedd for the Vale of Clwyd, has praised the Queen’s Market in Rhyl following a visit to the recently opened multi-million-pound food hall and market.
The visit showcased the market’s growing impact on the town, providing opportunities for local business owners, creating jobs, and serving as a vibrant space for residents and families. With over 50 people now employed onsite and a mix of food, drink, and retail outlets, such as the locally owned Little Italy Pizza, the market has quickly become a key part of Rhyl’s regeneration.
Recent events, including a UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 final screening and a Beatles tribute night, have drawn strong attendance. The market’s family-friendly policies, early closing hours, and on-site security have contributed to its success in maintaining a welcoming environment for all.
Gareth was informed that community support has been overwhelmingly positive, with locals forming the majority of regular visitors, helping the venue build year-round momentum.
Looking ahead, the market will face even more development, with plans are underway to introduce a children’s play area outside the building, along with exciting new food stalls offering jacket potatoes and bubble tea. Seasonal programming is also in the pipeline, including a festive Christmas market and a Mamma Mia sing-along night.
Although some delays were experienced during development and a few concerns remain over perceptions of the market's modern design, the project has broadly been seen as a step forward for Rhyl’s future.
Gareth Davies MS commented:
“It was a real treat to visit the Queen’s Market in Rhyl which marks a big step forward in the town’s regeneration.
“The vibrancy and exciting range of businesses are giving people in Rhyl new opportunities and reasons to stay local.”
“The positive community response shows there’s real potential, and I urge everyone to make a trip.”
