The new Leader of the Welsh Conservative Group in the Senedd has unveiled his team ahead of the 2026 Senedd elections, including a Shadow Cabinet that Darren Millar has described as “a Government in waiting.”
Gareth was today offered the post of Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism, Sport, and North Wales and has accepted. His new position follows his previous post as Shadow Minister for Mental Health and Early Years which he has served in since April 2024.
Commenting, Gareth Davies, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism, Sport, and North Wales, said:
“I was invited by Darren Millar, the new Leader of the Welsh Conservative Senedd Group, to join the Shadow Cabinet as the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism, Sport, and North Wales, and I was delighted to accept this role.
“I look forward to hitting the ground running, holding Welsh Government account, and ensuring they maintain a properly resourced, vibrant arts sector in Wales, fighting for parity of funding and resources for North Wales which has consistently been neglected compared to other regions, and championing the funding and promotion of sport which contributes toward building a healthier Wales.
“I’d like to thank Darren Millar for my appointment, and I look forward to being part of his team that has been assembled to put forward a plan to fix Wales.”
