Vale of Clwyd Senedd member, Gareth Davies MS, welcomed residents from across Denbighshire to his constituency office in St Asaph for his annual Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising £281.00 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Attendees enjoyed a warm and friendly atmosphere with tea and coffee served alongside a generous spread of cakes and biscuits kindly donated by local supporters. The event brought together people of all ages to share conversation, while raising vital funds for one of the UK’s best-loved charities who provide emotional, practical, and financial support to people affected by cancer, helping them live life as fully as possible.
Macmillan coffee mornings have been supporting people living with cancer since 1990 and more than 98 per cent of Macmillan’s funding comes directly from donations. Since 1990, more than 1.2m coffee mornings have been hosted across the UK which has raised around £300m for Macmillan Cancer Support. Last year alone, the UK-wide Macmillan Coffee Mornings raised more than £17 million, funding Macmillan’s crucial work.
Speaking after the event, Gareth Davies MS said:
“I know how devastating a cancer diagnosis can be for a person as well as their family and friends, so I’m proud to bring together our community together to support an important cause that affects many of us.
“Thank you to everyone who joined in, whether by baking, donating, or just stopping for a chat over a cup of coffee.”
“Events like this help raise vital funds for the battle against cancer, but they’re also a way of standing alongside people who are facing difficult times.
“I’m pleased that we once again played its part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and thank you to everyone who helped make it a success.”
