Employment figures in North Wales are lower than those in South Wales, and in England. More needs to be done to by the Welsh Government to ensure that North Wales can reach its full potential.
I have championed local businesses, working with business groups and training organisations to discuss the challenges they face. I spoke in the Senedd asking for more support for young entrepreneurs, like the ones I met in Cwm who have taken over the Blue Lion pub, and urged the Welsh Government to do more to rejuvenate and revitalise our seaside towns like Rhyl.
When I have spoken with business owners in our towns they have all said similar things. They want to see our towns thrive, and the barriers to successful trade like high business rates scrapped.
Infrastructure updates will play an important role in bringing further investment to the Vale of Clwyd, protecting and creating jobs in our local area. Alongside my work with local businesses I am calling on the Welsh Government to invest in key road networks and improve public transport, you can read about that work here.
